2. Supervisory responsibility/position in structure
Responsible to: The Head of School, Tourism and Hospitality, with delegated responsibility to programme manager and module leaders.
3. Main function of job
To contribute to teaching Languages
4. Main Duties – brief description
Note: In addition to these duties employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the general scope and level of the post.

Teaching and learning support
|
|
|
Communication
|
· Routinely communicate issues related to language teaching to those with limited knowledge and understanding using high level skills and a range of media.
|
|
Managing people
|
· Advise and support students in their study.
|
|
Teamwork
|
· Act as a responsible team member and develop productive working relationships with other members of staff.
· Collaborate with colleagues to identify and respond to students’ needs.
|
|
Pastoral care
|
· Assist with the pastoral care of students within a specified area.
|
|
Expertise
|
· Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to teach.
· Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.

Specialist training required:
|
An appropriate qualification – e.g. Spanish native-speaker with sound English language skills and should be able to deal effectively with teaching-related duties. Recent experience of the Spanish education system is highly desirable.

The ability to teach effectively
Administrative ability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to integrate quickly into the School of Tourism and Hospitality.

Mobility between campuses/external to the University: -
Teaching at the main (Plymouth) campus and/or any location at which the University may deliver modules and courses offered by the Plymouth Business School.
